Every second that ticks by a family member will die from cancer globally! And the numbers keep growing every year. By 2030 the number will be over 21 million. That's the population of Australia, lost to this dreaded disease in one year. The Funding for new thinking is required to stem the tide and change the paradigm of cancer treatment. One of Australia's leading neurosurgeons, Dr Charles Teo, is calling for a massive increase of $50 billion in funding over 5 decades, to find a cure for children with brain cancer. Dr Teo obviously knows toxic chemotherapy and radiation does not cure brain cancer. American Senior Vice President of the Children's National Medical Center, Roger Packer MD states in 1993". As you probable know there is no effective means to treat children with malignant tumours". Dr Teo says," most people are dead within a year of diagnosis of brain cancer, and that includes children. Brain Cancer is the most solid cancer in kids and kills more children than any other cancer in Australia". Every 6 hours someone is diagnosed with brain cancer in Australia. November 1993 age 12, I was diagnosed with brain cancer and given only weeks to live by Oncologists. Their zeal to start me on protocol CCG 9922 alarmed my Parents, which prompted them to delay and consider options. We declined the offer and opted for an unconventional non toxic form of gene therapy called Antineoplastons, discovered by Stanislaw Burzynski MD in the United States, which had a 34% chance of response and no side effects. My only treatment for brain cancer has been Antineoplastons. Eleven years ago in July 2001, Dr Burzynski lodged an Executive Summary to the Australian Therapeutical Goods Administration in Canberra. The Executive Summary was reviewed and given a 'green light' in November 2001, to proceed with New Drug Application. It hasn't happened as yet. Getting Funding is also Buzynski's nemesis. The TGA still have Burzynslki on record, and have encouraged him to lodge a New Drug Application (NDA). Burzynski needs funding for research and trialing in Australia. He has to fund the US trials first before he can fund the NDA for Australia. He receives no funding at all from the US Cancer Institutes. Antineoplastons non toxic drug, has shown efficacy in the treatment of brain cancer and many have been completely cured. Burzynski does not pretend that his treatment is a sure fire cancer cure. Many patients of course do not respond. Nevertheless, it offers hope and a chance of success to many patients who otherwise have been told there isn't anything else.
